Although it was under the jurisdiction of Enryakuji until the Meiji era, it became the jurisdiction of the Hiyoshi Taisha as well as the separation order of the Buddha and Buddha was issued, and it was enacted as a company in 1876 (Meiji 9 years).

The process of the Toshogu construction was enshrined in Shizuoka prefecture Kuniyama by the death of Tokugawa Ieyasu 's death in 1616, and was enshrined in Nikko one year later.

It is said that the origin of "Gongendukuri" which connects the main hall and the hall of worship as seen now between stones is Hiyoshi Toshogu.
In the middle of the way Tokugawa Iemitsu aim for Kyoto, the priest thought of Gongenzukuri.

It is designed to be designed to be several stages lower between the stones and not to be disrespectful when serving with the back of the generals.

Like the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, the main shrine, the stone building, the hall of worship, and the facing temple were not united, and the beam extending from the hall of worship to the main hall was not reaching the main hall but stopped under the eaves, so it was hard to tie how to connect the main hall and hall of worshipers I understand things.

Hiyoshi Toshogu was built in 1923, after that, rebuilding started in Yoshinaga year (1624-1644) in spite of a short time, and in July 1634 the enclave was invited and a grand entrance was prosperous at the grand scale It was. Nikko Toshogu also started construction for rebuilding in the autumn, and has been positively moved in the spring of 1636. From this it can be said that Hiyoshi Toshogu became a model for Nikko Toshogu Shrine.
